Sort Sol Theatre presents the London premiere of How Am I Doing Today? by Georgy Pleece.
This dark comedy spirals into the absurd, exploring the world of customer services, consumerism and our own perceptions of success. Leave the 9-5 behind for a dance with the devil in this existential crash-out soundtracked by noughties-pop bangers.
Leonard works in the customer services department of a hellish delivery retailer alongside Kelly, his jaded colleague who dreams of working in a biscuit factory, and Fergus, his man-spreading, mansplaining manager. Infernal customers, fiendish feedback forms and maniacal management torment his life, and each day seems to last an eternity.
With his probation looming, Leonard is in last place for the customer feedback competition. The prize of a candy floss machine and further employment seem to be running away from him until he receives a mysterious call from a delightfully devilish man, who offers him five-star reviews, a promotion, and unlimited candy floss. Leonard might just get more than he bargained for, as he is pushed to the limits of the phrase: the customer is always right…
Unmissable performances from Alexander McGonagle, Phoebe Mercer and Georgy Pleece in this 60-minute surrealist whirlwind that graces GrimFest stage for just three nights!
