Armour is an intimate two-hander set within the quiet intensity of a therapy room, where a teenage boy is confronted with the emotional weight he has been carrying in silence. What begins as a guarded and reluctant conversation gradually unfolds into a layered exploration of body image, masculinity, and the pressures of expectation placed on young men today.

As the therapist carefully navigates the session, moments of resistance, deflection, and discomfort give way to glimpses of vulnerability. The play examines how emotional “armour” is built, not out of strength, but as a necessary response to shame, judgement, and the fear of being seen. Through pauses, silences, and subtle shifts in behaviour, Armour focuses on what is left unsaid just as much as what is spoken.

Minimal in staging and presented as a script-in-hand performance, the piece places emphasis on raw, naturalistic performances and psychological tension. The audience is drawn into a deeply personal space, witnessing the fragile process of breaking down emotional barriers.

At a time when conversations around mental health and masculinity are becoming increasingly urgent, Armour offers a reflective and thought-provoking look at vulnerability, identity, and the courage it takes to confront oneself.

Written and directed by Abhishek Passi, the play continues its development through live performance, inviting audiences to engage with its themes and evolving narrative.
