It’s 9pm on Halloween and Mac is already fast asleep on the sofa – until his best friend Joey rocks up with a broken nose and a suspiciously lumpy Tesco Bag for Life.

Joey is accident-prone, chaotic, and nursing the aftermath of a hook-up gone wrong. Mac is the quiet, suburban family man who always keeps his door open and his first aid kit ready for Joey. With 25 years of history and an unspoken rule to never ask questions, they’re used to this old dance – Joey turning up on Mac’s doorstep with another situation to clean up. But tonight, as Mac cleans the blood off Joey’s face, the cracks in their friendship begin to appear.

Visceral, sharply witty, and deeply tender, Scar Tissue is an intimate two-hander that strips bare the messiness of co-dependency, male friendship, and the lengths we go to just to feel wanted.
