How far would you go for your ride or die?
Inspired by the Scottish poem, Tam o’Shanter, the piece follows best-friends Omi, Callum and Tandy on a road trip. A trip that is meant to hide Callum’s secret. But he’s not the only one hiding something. With a creature from the shadows tracking their every move, will they make it to the Scottish Highlands in one piece? Can they outrun the claws of their past?
A journey of self-discovery, mayhem and murder. The young, Trans friends learn to tackle generational struggles in a world where fairytale comes to life.
Covering themes of family, identity, and community. Pulling from the experiences of Disabled, Queer and Black communities, combined with the cultural myths of werewolves and transformation from Scottish and Caribbean culture. It explores cultural heritage, identity and the dynamics of blood/ found families. Asking the question of where you think you should belong, and where you do belong? Using shadow puppetry and silhouettes to convey horror and fantastical elements of the piece.
